Lake Koocanusa

We are back safe and sound. Ah, what can I say? I am glad to be home, but very glad to have gone! The drive is about 3 hours...a long drive, but thankfully I didn't have to do any of it! Thanks Louie! The Lake is just 40 miles up from Louie's house in Libby, Montana. It is created by Libby Dam and spans 90 miles up into Canada. It is incredible!

Louie's Dad went up early and got us a camp spot. We were all by ourselves, with not another person in site, and RIGHT next to the lake. It was an incredible spot, couldn't of picked a better spot myself. We got there around 8 pm Friday night. I immediately set up the tent while Louie unpacked the car. The fire was already started by Louie's dad..and we sat by the fire the rest of the night catching up!

Louie made Breakfast Burritos Saturday morning! We were stoked!

The Camp Site!

The days kinda blend together. Highlights of the trip...was fishing and catching the little silver white fish...boating on the lake in the wind storm and getting splashed. Laughing at Louie Jr (Louie's dad) getting sooo excited about firewood. Looking over the lake at the incredible Caribbean ocean color, taking naps, relaxing, not having a worry in the world. It was nice. We didn't do much, but that's what you are supposed to do camping!

This could be the Caribbean Ocean if it wasn't cold and no pine trees!

I am fishing! I look 12 too!

I caught a fish THIISSS BIG!

Louie's Fish. It was dinner

Sunday, Louie's mom, grandma and her husband came to visit for lunch. Louie's Mom, Lydia, stayed Sunday night. It was nice to have some new company! That night it ended up being REALLY cold, and a little rainy, plus coyotes ended up harassing us right as we headed to bed. I was a little nervous about Louie's mom, because she isn't the hard-core camper the rest of us are...but she survived and I was very happy she stuck it out, even if they did end up sleeping in their truck! My mom wouldn't have lasted without a toilet or a shower!

Monday morning we woke up able to see our breath when we breathed. It sucked it was soo cold...I am NOT looking forward to winter...but it is definitely fall! AGH! I cooked French Toast and Louie Jr. cooked Bacon...We ate incredibly well!!

Here are some of the Best Of pictures...The 78 others can be found on Myspace and Facebook.
